Mandy the Haunted Doll Story

This article will be taking a look at the Mandy the haunted doll story. What paranormal force is inside this object donated to the Quesnel and District Museum, in British Columbia, back in 1991?

Let’s take a closer look…

The Donation

The doll was swiftly placed on the curator of the Quesnel and District Museum’s desk back in 1991 – the owner claimed that it was over ninety years old and her young daughter had just started playing with it.

Knowing that this was probably an item that was worth a decent amount of money, she decided to take it out of the clutches of the young girl and donate it to the museum instead.

The doll was apparently named Mandy and it had belonged to the owner’s grandmother. The curator couldn’t help but notice that this woman could not wait to get rid of the item – she seemed to have no emotional ties to it!

The curator picked up the doll to examine it once the owner had left. It was a creepy looking little sod…but it seemed to emanate some sort of feeling of unease, of dread.

The Donation of the Doll

It was a well worn item, with tufts of stuffing breaking out in places and faded, old fashioned clothing. But it was the doll’s face that really creeped the curator out – it had cracks along it causing one it’s eyes to stick out slightly.

She felt it looked pretty hideous…but it was an antique piece…

It Moved!!!

The doll was handed over to museum staff so that they could carry out a few repairs, and check whether it was infected by any dangerous infestations. It was placed in a plastic bag for a couple of days (this plastic bag would kill off the insects that were inside the doll).

Many museum employees that were working in the same room as the doll swore they heard the bag rustle as if the doll had moved inside.

On more than one occasion, they also claimed that the doll had managed to move position inside the bag!

The Haunted Doll

After Mandy was ‘released’ from the plastic bag, she was taken to a section of the museum that photographs new additions. It was then left in this room overnight.

When workers entered the room the following morning, they were shocked to find that all the other objects in the room had been scattered about the place throughout the night – the doll remained in the same position it was left in.

The doll was moved to another room…and the same outcome occurred the following morning.

The curator later likened the mess to a child’s tantrum, when it didn’t want something in it’s room, so it kicked up a fuss on everything around it!

The Haunted Doll

The strange doll was eventually placed near the entrance of the museum, but numerous visitors would complain about it’s presence there. Most of them admitted that it would give them the feeling of unease, every time they looked at it.

A lot of amateur photographers, who visited the museum, claimed that the photos they took of the doll would never come out right. In most cases these images were either blurred, or had strange light anomalies present in them.

A psychic eventually visited the museum and asked if they could hold the doll for a reading – to try and find out the origins behind it. The museum agreed…

Mandy the Haunted Doll

Many years ago, a young man was walking past a long abandoned farmhouse, when they heard the crying sound of a child come from inside. Curious as to where it was coming from, the man entered the house.

Once inside, he heard the crying sound once again, coming from the cellar below.

He entered the cellar and was shocked to find the body of a little girl, lying there clutching onto this doll. It is believed that when she died, her spirit decided to inhabit the doll.

The curator of the museum eventually tracked down the woman who donated the doll and found out the truth, once and for all…

The woman admitted that her daughter had nothing to do with the doll, and that she hastily donated the doll because she was sick of hearing the sound of crying sobs…coming up from her cellar…
