The Varginha Incident, Brazil

The Varginha Incident, Brazil

This article will be covering the alien reports that surfaced in Brazil in 1996 – now known as The Varginha Incident. What were these strange bipedal creatures and where did they come from?

Let’s take a closer look…

The Creature

The first reports of these creatures surfaced in the city on January the 20th, 1996, when three young women claimed they had encountered one.

The creature was said to be no more than five feet tall, bipedal, with dark brown skin. It’s head was said to have been ‘over-sized’ with large red eyes, and it had an extremely slender body.

The creature seemed to be injured in some way, and moved in a hobble, as if it was seriously hurt. The three girls (Lilane Silva, Valquiria Silav and Katia Xavier) didn’t care a jot if it was injured – the red eyes were enough to send them running off, screaming.

The Creature

Word spread quickly, and the local press pushed the story until it was worldwide news.

But this was not the end of the extraterrestrial activity in Varginha during January, 1996…

The UFO

The night before the discovery of this creature, the Brazilian Center on Air Defence and Air Traffic Control was contacted by a US agency, regarding an unidentified object heading towards the ground near Minas Gerais Estate in South East Brazil.

Around about the same time, two farmers were awoken to the sound of cattle going mad in their fields. They both got up, got changed, and walked out into the night to find out what was spooking the animals.

The Varginha Alien

When they got to the first field they were shocked to see a silent flying object without lights gliding down one of their fields. The ‘craft’ seemed to be in some sort of distress and was banking left and right erratically.

Rumors suggest that this UFO finally crashed on the farmland, and an alien survivor was shot by one of the farmers. All the evidence was removed from the scene by authorities before the locals could set eyes on it (apparently!).

The Varginha Reports

The reports of ‘The Devil’ creatures started surfacing in Varginha at 8 o’clock the following morning. The first one was made by a student not more than 6 miles away from the farm crash site.

The Varginha Fire Department then received several calls that morning regarding strange creatures in the city. These creatures were described as moving like jaguars. The military had turned up at the scene of every report and ‘removed’ each culprit.

The Varginha Reports

The whole city spent the remainder of the day watching the military patrol their streets, looking for something…

One of these military groups are rumored to have captured one of these creatures alive in a city park, that night. They apparently took it to a general hospital where the doctors and nurses were suppressed. Several areas of the hospital were closed down and the public were told it was nothing more than a training exercise for the military.

The creature is rumored to have died in a ward of that hospital, and kept there under guard, for a full thirty hours before the military heads turned up to remove it.

The Varginha Incident, Brazil

Locals of Varginha, Brazil, still believe that their city was under extraterrestrial quarantine on  January the 20th, 1996 – what do you think?

The Joelma Building Fire

The Joelma Building Fire

In this article we will be taking a look at the paranormal reports linked to the Joelma building fire on the 1st of February, 1974, in Sao Paulo, Brazil…when 179 of the 756 occupants, died tragically…

The Joelma Fire

The 25 story high-rise in Sao Paulo caught fire on Friday February the 1st, 1974. The initial report was registered by authorities at 8:50 am, after a resident in an adjacent building spotted flames lapping out of one of the windows.

Unfortunately, within 30 minutes of this initial call – the entire building was engulfed in deadly flames…

And a lot of residents were still trapped inside.

It’s sad to say that the owners of the building had not been keeping up with fire safety regulations – no alarms, no sprinklers emergency lights or emergency exits. It’s also reported that the building’s air conditioning system was faulty…

This system is thought to be the initial cause of the fire.

The Attempted Escape

More than 500 people managed to escape this terrifying ordeal…but many resident’s route to safety was cut off by the flames, heat and smoke.

The Attempted Escape

Just under 200 people managed to get onto the roof of the building…but the heat and flames made it impossible for helicopters to pick them up. This tragically resulted in people taking their lives into their own hands…

People attempted to drop down, floor by floor, on the outside of the building…and plummeted to their doom.

People also attempted to jump straight down to ground level in desperation – a jump they could never survive.

13 Souls and Home of the Devil

When the fire and rescue teams were finally able to get into the burned out building, they came across an elevator that was sealed shut. After a bit of a struggle they finally managed to pry open the doors…and what they discovered would stay with them forever more…

The lift was full of charred bodies of residents that had got stuck within when the fire broke out – the metallic elevator had acted as a human oven in the heat…and fused the bodies together.

The authorities eventually managed to count 13 dead bodies within that elevator…but nobody ever came forward to claim them. It was as if these victims never existed.

They were buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery, side by side, and are now known as the ’13 Souls’.

13 Souls and Home of the Devil

Not long after the tragedy, people began looking into the history of the land the building was built on…

Apparently, in 1948, a 26 year old chemist named Paul Campbell lived on the land with his family (who were made up of his two sisters and his mother). For no reason at all – Campbell suddenly cracked one day…and ended up killing his entire family.

He then dragged their bloody bodies outside, and committed suicide.

One of the officers that was called to this bloody scene, managed to cut his hand as he was handling the corpses of Campbell’s family – he died within days of receiving the cut.

This was enough for locals of the area – they instantly labeled the ground as cursed…and gave it the title of ‘The Home of the Devil’.

The Praca da Bandeira

The building was eventually totally repaired and given the name of Praca da Bandeira – it is now a building that is well known for paranormal activity.

Every floor above the fifteenth seems to play host to a range of hauntings – on numerous occasions the fire systems have been set off by an unknown force and apparitions are constantly reported in the building’s stairwells.

Psychics who have investigated the property claim that most of the spirits are friendly enough…but there is also a dark force hidden in the background…
